The church of Sant'Ermete is the main place of worship of the Catholic religion of Forte dei Marmi, in Versilia, home to the parish of the same name belonging to the archdiocese of Pisa. The structure was built at the expense of the local inhabitants, inaugurated on the occasion of the marriage between Roberto Raffaetà and Luisa Cesarali. Later, again thanks to the premises, a five-room rectory was added. The construction of the bell tower began in 1885, but the work stopped shortly after due to the lack of money needed to continue and continued only five years later. The works were completed in 1891. The church bell tower is the oldest in Versilia. Work on the construction of the two side naves began in 1916 and was completed around 1923. In 1999, a new pipe organ was built by the Marin Brothers to replace the previous one, from 1920.
